In 2014, Direct Energie decided to join the French NGO (Non-governmental organization) Electriciens sans frontières which works relentlessly on the improvement of the access to electricity for a lot of populations in the world.
Direct Energie works with the NGO on a project of electrification in Burkina Faso which will allow the improvement of the living conditions of more than 25 000 people.
Several solar power plants will be settled to feed in a reliable and long-lasting way two schools and a center of health and social advancement in 3 villages which up to here had no access to electricity.
The settled solar power plants will allow the storage of energy thanks to gel batteries which require not much maintenance.
The main objective of this project is to contribute to the improvement of the conditions of access to healthcare and to the education of the inhabitants. To assure the sustainability of the project, Electriciens sans frontières will gather a technical team for the exploitation and the maintenance of the installations.
Direct Energie will financially support Electriciens sans frontières in various projects in favour of the access to energy in developing countries in 2015 and 2016.
